Internet leased line
A leased line gives your organisation a dedicated internet connection with bandwidth reserved for you. We help you size the bandwidth, survey the site and plan for continuity.
01 — Explained
An internet leased line is a dedicated connection between your premises and the network, with bandwidth that is not shared with other customers. Leased lines usually offer symmetric upload and download speeds and static public IP addresses, which suits businesses that run servers, VPNs, cloud applications or many simultaneous users.
| Shared internet | Internet leased line | |
|---|---|---|
| Bandwidth | Shared with other users in the area | Dedicated to your organisation |
| Upload vs download | Upload is often lower than download | Typically symmetric |
| IP addresses | Usually dynamic | Static public IPs usually available |
| Best suited to | Homes and small premises | Offices, enterprises and multi-user sites |
| Terms | Standard plans | Defined in a service agreement |
02 — Use cases
Many users on cloud applications, video meetings and VoIP at the same time.
Static IPs and symmetric bandwidth for servers, remote access and site-to-site VPNs.
Steady connectivity for records, billing, imaging uploads and telemedicine.
Campus-wide internet for labs, staff and online learning platforms.
ERP, inventory, logistics systems and remote CCTV monitoring.
Consistent bandwidth for client-facing work and real-time applications.
03 — Options
Depending on your location, a leased line may be delivered over optical fibre or a wireless last-mile link. Options, bandwidth and charges are confirmed after a feasibility check and site survey.
04 — Business continuity
A secondary link, where feasible, so critical work can continue if the primary connection is interrupted.
A router or firewall configured to switch traffic to the backup link.
UPS for network equipment so connectivity is not lost during short power cuts.
Support contacts and procedures as defined in your service agreement.
05 — Process
Share your address, users and required bandwidth.
We check how the connection can reach your premises.
Our team inspects the building, entry points and equipment location.
You receive bandwidth options, terms and charges in writing.
The line is installed, configured and tested on site.
Please note
Leased line availability, bandwidth, delivery timelines and service levels depend on location and are confirmed in the proposal and service agreement.
