Head office to branch
Give a branch office access to central servers, software and printers.
Point-to-point (P2P)
A point-to-point link connects two of your sites directly, so they work as one private network. We plan the link over fibre or wireless depending on distance and site conditions, then install, configure and test it.
01 — Explained
A point-to-point (P2P) link is a dedicated connection between two fixed locations — for example a head office and a branch, or an office and a warehouse. Traffic between the two sites travels over the link rather than the public internet.
P2P links are used to share files, servers, phone systems, CCTV recorders and a single internet connection across sites.
| Fibre P2P | Wireless P2P | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Optical fibre run between the two sites | Outdoor radios with a clear line of sight |
| Suited to | Sites where a fibre route is available | Sites where laying fibre is impractical |
| Main dependency | Route permissions and cable path | Line of sight, distance and interference |
| Feasibility | Confirmed after route survey | Confirmed after line-of-sight survey |
02 — Use cases
Give a branch office access to central servers, software and printers.
Connect production and storage sites to ERP and accounts at the office.
Join separate buildings on a campus, school or hospital into one network.
Carry camera feeds from a remote gate, yard or building to the main recorder.
Route one internet connection or leased line to a second site.
Connect a site to the location where your servers or backup are kept.
03 — Survey
Feasibility
P2P feasibility, capacity and performance depend on distance, route, line of sight and site conditions. We confirm these after a survey and before you commit.
04 — Process
Share both site addresses and what the link will carry.
We survey both ends and the route or line of sight.
You receive the link type, equipment and charges in writing.
Equipment installed at both sites and aligned or spliced.
Link throughput tested and connected to your network.
05 — Enquiry
Give us the two locations you want to connect. If you are unsure of the distance or bandwidth, leave those blank.
